REDACTED

Narrative Description:

Description of the Incident: Gretta was flying from Austin, TX to Cleveland, OH. Upon connecting in Houston (IAH), the PetSafe agent noticed that Gretta was in distress. She was immediately pulled from the flight line and was rushed to a nearby Animal Emergency Clinic for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, Gretta was deceased upon arrival at the clinic approximately 20 minutes after arriving into Houston.

Description of the Cause of the Incident: A necropsy was performed by the Veterinarian at the Emergency Animal Clinic, and he reported that Gretta suffered a Gastric Volvulus, more commonly known as "Gastric Torsion" which is indicative of a condition unrelated to air transit.

Description of any corrective action taken: All Continental policies were followed, and Gretta's condition could not be anticipated and was unrelated to air travel, so no corrective action is necessary.
