Animal Name: Reagan

Description of Incident: A 10 year old male Cock-A-Poo was accepted in Albany, NY (ALB) with a transfer and overnight kenneling in Detroit, MI (DTW) destined for San Francisco, CA (SFO) . The canine was accepted in apparent good health with all documentation present. The canine arrived in Detroit, MI and was transferred to kenneling services for overnight stay until the next day’s flight to San Francisco, CA. Reagan was walked at 930PM by the kenneling service and appeared to be in good health. At approximately 6am on January 16th prior to transport back to DTW for the destination flight, kenneling services noticed 'Reagan' unresponsive. 'Reagan' was transported to Michigan State University for medical evaluation.

Cause of Incident: According to the Necropsy report Reagan died from a Pheochromocytoma tumor inside the left adrenal gland as well as Mitral valve endocardiosis of the heart.

Corrective Action Taken: 'Reagan' died from pre-existing medical conditions. No corrective action taken.
