Animal Name: Chloe

Description of Incident: An 18-week-old male Sphynx Cat "Chloe" weighing 3lb 2oz was tendered for transport from New York, NY (JFK) on March 19, 2020 to Phoenix, AZ (PHX). Chloe was accepted with all required documentation and deemed healthy for travel per the accompanying Veterinary health certificate. Chloe was loaded on Delta flight 2338 non-stop service to PHX and transported without incident. Chloe arrived in PHX and at the time of unloading was noticed unresponsive during observation. Delta personnel in PHX immediately transported Chloe to local Veterinary services for evaluation. Local Veterinary services in PHX determined Chloe had died. A Necropsy of Chloe’s remains was scheduled to aid in determining cause of death.

Cause of Incident: According to the necropsy report Chloe suffered from pre-existing conditions. Pneumonia and Pulmonary edema.

Corrective Action Taken: Chloe suffered from pre-existing medical conditions. No corrective action taken.
