Sacramento International Airport (SMF) has a pet relief station both before and after security in each terminal. These areas serve both service animals and pets.

Post-Security (Airside)

Terminal A

• The service animal area is in the east terminal wing. After you clear the TSA checkpoint, turn right.
• It is immediately before Gate A1, next to the restroom.
• The airport map lists this pet relief point on Level 2 of Terminal A.

Terminal B

• The service animal area is in the east terminal wing. After you clear the TSA checkpoint, turn right.
• It is immediately before Gate B11, next to the restroom.
• The airport map lists this pet relief point on Level 3 of Terminal B, which is the concourse level.

Pre-Security (Landside)

Terminal A

• This outdoor dog bathroom is a grassy area outside the east end of the building.
• It is near the curbside passenger pick-up/drop-off. When you face the terminal, it is to the right of the building.
• Directions: Exit the building, turn left, and follow the signs.
• The airport map lists it on Level 1.

Terminal B

• This outdoor pet relief area is a grass patio on the south end of the terminal.
• It is on the first level (Baggage Claim), near the curbside passenger pick-up/drop-off. When you face the terminal, it is to the right of the building.
• The airport map lists it on Level 1.

Amenities & Rules

• Supplies: All relief areas have bags for disposing of pet waste.
• Leash Policy: Dogs are allowed in the airport if they are on a leash and under their owner's control.
• Who Can Use Them: The areas are open to both service animals and pets.
• Airside Access Hours: TSA checkpoints open at 4 a.m. daily and close around 12:30 a.m., depending on flight schedules. Concourses close 30 minutes after the last flight lands, usually between midnight and 1 a.m.
• Changing Terminals: Terminals A and B are separate buildings. Walking between them takes about 10 minutes, and you must go through TSA screening again to reach your gate.
