Incident 3 Carrier: Alaska Airlines Flight: 482 (Seattle, WA to Los Angeles, CA) Date of incident: Friday, August 22, 2014 Time of incident: Approximately 6:45 PM PT Description of animal (including name): A 2-year-old, Female, Cane Corso Dog, named Kira. Narrative description of incident: Preflight, during transit from our Cargo building to the gate area, Kira, a 2-year-old, female dog, had broken two nails and cut her mouth, while trying to escape her kennel. Kira was brought back to the Cargo building and cleaned up and allowed to relax on the office floor, while the shipper came to pick her up and Kira didn’t fly that day. Narrative description of the cause of the incident: Kira, a 2-year-old, female dog, had broken two nails and cut her mouth, while trying to escape her kennel. There is no evidence to suggest that the airline’s handling contributed to the animal’s injuries. Narrative description of any corrective action taken in response to the incident:
