August 2015 Airline Pet Travel Report

The August, 2015 Airline Pet Travel Report contains pet incidents for the month of June, 2015.

United Airlines reports the injury of a three year-old Schnauzer mix. The schnauzer was leashed and being walked from the pet relief area to the cargo facility when an individual in a nearby parking lot lost control of their Shepherd. The Shepherd attacked the Schnauzer. The Schnauzer was cleared by veterinarian to continue travel. United is reviewing route used to walk pets to minimize or prevent contact with other animals not within our control.

United Airlines reports the death of a nine week-old Siberian Husky named King. The puppy manifested severe illness shortly after acceptance and prior to flight departure from Tampa, FL. He was immediately taken to a veterinarian where he was diagnosed to be in the final stages of an existing Parvovirus. This death is not travel related.
